Learning Principles

Moving All Children Forward

We try to move all of our students forward by at least their chronological age. Our goal is to impart a life-long passion for learning and to enable our students to achieve success in whatever they take on in later life.

Measuring Results

We use a range of testing tools to ensure our teaching team can see what works and what doesn’t for each child. Tools used include PAT (Progressive Achievement Test) and ICAS (formerly Australasian Schools Competitions), covering subjects in English, Maths and Science.

Student progress and results are now recorded in the eTAP Student Management System for increased ability to analyse and report on student achievement.

Gifted & Talented and Additional Programmes

Oranga also offers additional programmes, including Primary Research Projects, and student mentoring in association with The University of Auckland.
