Our School PTA

The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is run by an enthusiastic, energetic group of parents and is an integral part of our school. Through some great initiatives they aim to build a sense of community and connection within the families at school.

The PTA works with the school through:

  • fundraising to contribute to the much-needed purchases of items like new sports uniforms, picnic benches and digital learning tools

  • providing a link between parents and school management

  • encouraging a sense of school community through the organisation of many community events each year

Past activities of the PTA include:

  • school discos

  • family movie nights,

  • ice blocks after assembly

  • annual cake stall

The PTA is a great place to meet other parents and families, have some fun and become involved in the wider community of the school.

They hold regular meetings to exchange ideas and discuss future events.  Meetings are held in the school staff room and times are posted in the school newsletter.

They welcome new members and ideas.  There is no obligation to attend every meeting or event and they appreciate any involvement that families can offer. The PTA can always use more helping hands and love to meet new families.

Just email us at pta@oranga.school.nz or drop off your details at the school office and we will be in touch.
