Oranga School was established in February 1949 and currently has a roll of approximately 350 year 1–6 students and has a combined staff of approximately 40.

We are a diverse community-focused school located in the heart of One Tree Hill. We promote a collaborative and engaging learning environment which fosters a love for learning whilst upholding our school values of Hiringa, Aroha, Manaakitanga.

Oranga means wellbeing and at Oranga School we believe in nurturing the whole child. We are passionate about education and making a difference in the lives of our students.

Welcome to Oranga School

Welcome to Oranga School, a learning community where our tamariki are at the heart of everything we do. At Oranga, we are proud to provide a positive, supportive, and engaging environment where every child is known, valued, and encouraged to thrive.

Our committed staff hold high expectations for all ākonga and work hard to create meaningful learning experiences that inspire curiosity, build confidence, and empower students to achieve success. We believe that strong relationships, a sense of belonging, and quality teaching are the foundations for great learning.

Our vision, “Growing Our Future Together,” reflects our belief that learning is a shared journey between students, staff, whānau, and the wider community. We are passionate about working in partnership to prepare our ākonga with the skills, knowledge, and values they need for the future.

We are proud of our rich and diverse school community, our strong sense of connection and belonging, and the many opportunities available for students in learning, culture, leadership, sport, and the arts. Most of all, we are proud of our tamariki. Their enthusiasm, resilience, creativity, and the way they support one another to learn and grow together.
